It's still very early days for this, and the information trail is not very clever - it would be great if this website had a link that recorded every declaration as it came in - Roy, can you work on that??Does anyone have a list of which houses declared in 2004?
One can surmise a bit on the 2004's...
Despite some speculation, it is very unlikely that the major blends from Taylor Fladgate and the Symingtons will break with tradition and declare back to back, but Sandeman might play..
This will be a year for the single quintas. Unless they had local problems, expect to see names like Rosa, Vesuvio and Roriz declaring.
Also expect to see declarations form the individual quintas of the big players, such as Bomfim, Malvedos and Vargellas, but don't be surprised if these wines are not released for sale for a few years - the shippers seem to be signing up to the idea that they get better prices for interim years if they hang on to them for a while.

Folks like Niepoort, Sandeman, Ferreira, Offley etc. are less concerned about the issues of back to back declarations. The majority of declarations won't be made until next week or later. Be patient.
I have been considering whether or not to do a major tasting of the 2004 VPs and have still not come to any final conclusion.
