2004 Bredell's LBV

Post by Al B. »

Decant: None - South Africa. LBV, bottled unfiltered and only in half bottles. Made from a blend of Tinta Barroca, Souzao, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Francesa Very dark, leaving purple beads on the glass. Very closed nose, showing blueberries typical of a young port. In the mouth this is full of ripe and sweet blueberry fruit with a hint of vanilla, the tannins are noticeable but not dominant. The aftertaste is amazing - like eating After Eight dark chocolate mint cremes. This needs some time in the cellar and should be quite amazing in 5-10 years. 92 points
