TN: 1948 Fonseca Vintage Port

Decant: 2 hours - Deep cherry red in colour, with a transparent centre. Subdued on the nose, a touch of heat (the room was quite hot) and full of stewed rhubarb. Dry entry, still quite tannic but full of fruit. Quite sweet and with lovely development. Heat - big heat - on swallowing, which burns slightly before giving way to a luscious melted chocolate. 97 points
