FYI, I've split the 1952 Dalva Golden White topic into it's own thread here in this Forum.

Andy,

How did that particular bottle of 1997 Niepoort show for you?

A double magnum of Sandeman Vau 1997 - decanted into 3 bottles and a decanter and now being slowly drunk at home. A double magnum makes a nice house port!

How was that? I had an RP 20 that was about 15 years in the bottle and I thought it was quite simple tasting. Smooth and flat.

1987 Krohn Colheita. Not quite up to the level of the 1976, but still excellent.

The Nose of the Ramos was simply fantastic, but the many years in the bottle, had made it flat.

Last night I had a Taylor's 20 Years bottled on 1985, and the Wine was still fresh.

I have had many old Tawnies with an age, mostly I have had good luck. Taylors and Niepoorts tends to hold on for many years.

I like Niepoort Colheita with bottle age on it. I've never old bottlings of of either two, but I can imagine Niepoort's tawnies to hold better. With so many places selling Taylor tawny, I would rather just buy a "fresh" bottle as needed. I really like Taylor tawny; it's been the best tawny from either SFE or TFP.

1968 Noval Colheita. One of my favorites.

For an '85 baby friend, a poor cork that thankfully likely survived solely because of the wax. Didn't show up to par, but was still quite enjoyable. I'll post a note soon.

A colheita which blew me away the first time I tried it. Tasted alongside the 1937 I strongly preferred the 1968.

I opened a Butler Nephew in an attempt to find a birth year port that Tom had not yet tried. I think I succeeded.
