Do you care about this WS?

Are you watching it?

Rangers because I'm a Dodgers fan.
Also partial to Nolan Ryan from his Angels days.

Watching sporadically as a fan of baseball, but my Phillies are out so it takes the urgency out. Nice to see some new blood in there...mainly just hoping for some close games and something extraordinary to happen. [1974_eating_popcorn.gif]

I have to admit I'm not as interested as usual -- I'm still trying to figure out what the heck happend to Jeter and A-Rod in the LCS.

I do like some of the pitching stories in this series. I'm hoping Lee gets another start before it's over. And I enjoy seeing Lincecum pitch, although I wince in pain a little just watching the torque in his delivery. Brian Wilson's painted beard is awesome, I've always loved quirky closers.

Didn't you see the article in the Onion?

After 10 years and $252 million, A-Rod finally won a Championship Series for the Rangers.

I watched most of the comedy of errors known as Game 1, but I missed Game 2 last night. I grew up a Dodger fan, so I can't root for the Giants. Just doesn't feel right doing that. It's hard not to like the Rangers, also. Josh Hamilton's personal recovery is a great story. Michael Young plays the game the right way, and he has shown himself to be unselfish by switching spots in the infield, first giving up second for Soriano and now giving up short for Andrus. I knew that the Rangers did themselves a huge favor when they hired Ron Washington to manage the club. I remember reading about how Giambi personally picked up the tab for him when his home was devastated by Katrina. Washington was a coach with the A's when Giambi played there.

As for the series itself, I expect the Rangers to step it up at home. They will have the DH, and Vlad won't have to be in right field. And they have to pitch Cliff Lee in Game 4 if they want to win. The Giants have too much starting pitching for the Rangers to go with four starters for this series. And that bullpen, yikes.

Anyone catch Nolan Ryan's suggestion that MLB get rid of the DH? I think it was Vlad's misadventures in Game 1 that prompted him to voice that. I've never been a fan of the DH myself, but I can live with it being in one league as it is now.
