"200-year-old shipwreck" and "the branding of the corks ... featured a comet, added to pay tribute to one that crossed the skies of Champagne in 1811" doesn't seem consistent to me. Poor reporting methinks.

I thought having 1914 and 1921 Pol Roger was a great Champagne experience, but wow ... that is something!

Only a little. From what I've read, they're not 100% certain how old the shipwreck is, and so of course can't be certain how old the Champagne is either. This is the first mention I've seen of any details like this that can provide a more firm time frame.

Besides... 199 years old is pretty close to 200 years old.
