Sounds like a good time to start drinking. [cheers.gif]

Well, let's see. First I started "filtering" the bottles in the refrigerators, pulling out less expensive Ports and also ones less likely to be damaged by imperfect storage conditions. Then I started pulling out wines that I'd been storing for my wife. (I mean, really, if it's red she likes it. Does it really need to be stored perfectly to keep her happy???) Now, sadly, I've almost reached the point where there's no filtering left to be done and I'll be stuck.

It's probably about time for me to (finally) take Roy up on his offer to let me store a couple of cases in his cellar. [help.gif] [friends.gif]

I store the bottles at my Father's house

Buy another wine fridge is you don't have a walk in cellar. If you have a walk in cellar, buy more racks if you have space. If neither option works, start drinking more!! Fridge would work short term for some bottles that are not real old and that you plan on drinking soon. And there is always off-site.

Shipping boxes on the floor in the cool basement. Luckily I have some shipping boxes that hold the bottles horizontally.

currently a lot of boxes in the house!

But normally time to get another offsite locker, which I am dreadfully trying to avoid so I am in "drink down" mode of the stuff I got for "house Ports and wines"

Just spent most of the day reconfirguring the cellar; consolidating some bins, moving different bottles around to make space.

I have shipping boxes all over the place and I'm thinking that it might be time to get larger off-site storage. I might also pick-up another stand-alone cellar for the stuff that I want to keep on-hand for near-term drinking.
