Hey Guys,

Would any one be interested in a Dow Vertical in NY on March 19th?

We have vintages from 1960 onwards, missing 1972, 1975, 1980 (which will be provided by glenn)

i'm not sure about repost links from other sites, so I'm posting queries directly here.

-Jeff

I'd be interested. Not sure I could offer any vintages not represented, but can surly pay for my share, or Elys and my share if there's enough room.

Jeff,

My wife Ruth and I are planning to be in Philadelphia for several days around the 19th and would love to come to NY for the tasting. We both went on the Port Harvest Tour this past October with Glenn, Moses et al. We, too, don't have any of the missing vintages, but would be happy to share in the costs of the tasting.

Fantastic,

We have 10 people confirmed for this tasting.

Tasters include:
Moses +1,
Sandy +1,

Mike,
Glenn,

other tasters from tpf include
sushinorth

and 1 person from winespectators

We are goign to aim for a steakhouse downtown, is that okay for everyone?

Mmm... steak...

One of the ones we've used before, or are we trying a new one?

I would love to attend if slots are still available. Not a lot of Dow in my cellar, but would pay my share...

that's fine,

I think 12 people is a fair number so that everyone gets a taste and seconds across 12 bottles.

Going to aim for a different one.

Maybe we could include a few other bottles too?

What: Dow Vintage Port, starting in 1960.
[*]Acquired to date: 60, 63, 66, 70, 77, 80, 83, 85
[*]Seeking: 72, 75(?)
[*]Acquired but doubtful if it's worth including: 94, 97, 00, 03, 07

We have 8 bottles not including the 90s and 00s

What else do you suggest Moses?

We could source the 50s, but I would imagine the price goes up exponentially.

We could include a couple of Bomfims... those should be less expensive and would still fit the theme.

I regret to inform, but Elys & I won’t be able to attend. I forgot that we have something on that weekend. I hope we did not screw anything up… Sorry. [help.gif]

Jeff,

It is your gig but just a suggestion ... include the 2007. It is blow away great, even though it is really young, unless you have too much VP, I'd let everyone see the latest and greatest youngster too. Up to you, I'm just sayin'. [cheers.gif]

the cost of the ports appear to be 70-100$/person + the seperate cost of food
