Hi can anybody help me, I have a 1874 bottle of malvasia and i am trying to find out some history. So far i have traced it to The Wine Society uk who inform me that they collected it to give as a prize celebrating their 100th aniversary in 1974, although they say this was not a bottle they sold.
There are markings on the underside of the bottle which are 77 6 p 9 or it could be 6 d 9 depending where you read from.
I have found the same bottle on the forum

P.S Is it o.k to advertise bottles for sale on this forum ?
Thanks

Re: Unknown 1874 malvasia bottle
On FTLOP yes, but we prefer bottles come from known sources or regulars here. If you would like to email me (portolover@aol.com): we can chat and then it would be ok for you to post a bottle for sale in the correct place afterwards.
Thank you for joining us. Were you at the same recent tasting of that particular wine shown in the photo above?
