1899 Welsh Terrantez

About 10 years ago, I bought this wine from a store in NYC for about $200. I've always wondered about it, having never heard much about Welsh. The capsule is branded with "MWC" so I assume this is now a brand under the Madeira Wine Company umbrella.
Anybody ever tried this wine?

When I made the vintagelist for Madeirawineguide.com I found a total of 9 different 1899 T. Some from MWC.
But I have a feeling that Anibal D'Oliveira sold some of his to MWC around 1985 together with a few other wines. MWC also tend to change "label" on their wines.
MWC has still, if one look closely, in their vintage-room a lot od 1954 Verdelho CVM. They have not been repainted into "Leacock". I have the Leacock 1954 Verdelho, and tried a couple of years ago to buy their CVM in the cupboard, but was denied

Reidar,
I recently got your list off the madeirawineguide.com web site. I'm trying to update it with information from FTLOP. MWC and other producer's web sites, retail and wholesale stock lists, and currently the auction records from Chicago Wine Company and Sotheby's. I've added recent vintages and colheita/harvest wines. I hope to post it on FTLOP and ask for input from members.
I haven't yet found any mention of this Welsh Terrantez.

Reidar,
I just saw your list... very useful and informative.
I found it extremely interesting that the only known Madeiras from 1899 were made from Terrantez. I wonder why that was...

Yes I have wondered about that also. Strange, really.
