Adrian Bridge - The Fladgate Partnership Port Event

Post by Roy Hersh »

Dear FTLOP’ers,

On Wednesday, March 30, 2011, drink in the delights of Portugal’s Douro Valley, a land of austere beauty where dry summers and severe winters produce grapes bearing the distinctive and classic tastes of Vinho do Porto. The Dining Room at Salish Lodge & Spa will host, “A Celebration of Port Wine,” a five-course, Portuguese cuisine-themed dinner featuring Port pairings from the Taylor-Fladgate partnership, one of the oldest and most famous Port houses in the world.

A family run company, Taylor’s specializes in the marketing and production of top quality Port wines, and is the only Port wine shipper to remain completely independent throughout its 310 year history. Managing director of Taylor’s, Adrian Bridge, will be the evening’s featured guest. This is the first time that I know of in which Adrian will be visiting the Seattle area.

The evening will take place in The Falls Terrace, and begins with a 6:30 p.m. reception, followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $125 per person.
Call 1.800.2.SALISH for reservations.

Wow, looks like a lot of fun! Checking my schedule...

... and got our reservation. They weren't quite prepared to take reservations for it yet, though, so it took some explaining on my part to convince the reservations person that no, it's not a wedding, and no, it's not a special group function that I'm setting up. But now that I've introduced her to the event it will probably go more smoothly in the future! I even mentioned that I'd seen it on FTLOP but I don't think that helped. [dash1.gif]

The menu looks awesome, and I hope to see some fellow FTLOP participants there!
