The Euro has been in a narrow bandwidth for over 2 months now. Not crossing the 1.13 - 1.15 boundaries in that time frame, through some dynamics that I thought would show some movement; ie. the dramatic stockmarket downturn in December.

There were downturns at the beginning of the year, downturn in December ... but then there is Brexit overhanging the European market, and protests in France ... This is not a competition of who is doing better, but who is going to screw things up more. And of course the US market downturn is tied to trade, which won't help anyone too much.

While nearly at 1.15 there was a pretty significant drop off today and I am not really sure why: 1.12782 [cheers.gif]

Let's hope this is a new 2019 trend!

The range has narrowed all last week between 1.12059 and 1.12605. It is very rare to see an entire week go by with so little movement.

I think that everyone is waiting to see what happens with Brexit and also some suggestion of a slowing Euro economy - but nothing definitive yet.

Well, the past two days the dollar has weakened, was it the strength of the Q1 corporate earnings reports?

Anyway, at the moment and for the first time in a long time, the Euro has softened a little bit: 1.11613

A month later has seen the low mentioned above and it did rise briefly to 1.124 before retreating and it stays in a narrow margin recently between 1.115 and 1.105; currently @ 1.108.

Question is, will it stay here or go down below 1.10?

Will we see 1.08 or 1.10 first, here in the USA?

During the Corona Virus pandemic, it is now 1.08425 ... pretty low. I have also seen gasoline around $2.00 per gallon, although my brother tells me it is considerably lower in Colorado which doesn't surprise me as it is between WA State and CA for the highest prices in the USA during normal times. We have no state income or sales taxes here, so they put $.50 on top of every gallon of gas to make up for it, not to mention property taxes, which are pretty high too. Now that POTUS (as of 2018) did away with being able to deduct mortgage interest ... a huge deal, so that he could pass his tax bill ... this is where we are. Will the Euro weaken further? I can see it getting down to close to par if we have another month in April, at all similar to March.

The Euro was lower last week. IIRC, 1.07
