Decanted at noon for consumption in the evening. Double decanted back to the bottle around 6:30; consumed ~9-11.

Garnet with a tint of brown, and bricking at the edges. Totally clear. (There was certainly a lot of sediment rinsed out of the bottle.) When decanted, spicy aromas. Now at eleven, more spice, eucalyptus, and some warmth when swirled. Some faint leather and even fainter strawberry.

Slightly thick body, but not quite syrup, with some cherry tang. Spice is still there with some mild cinnamon. Low tannins and acid, but this doesn't seem such a fault with the spice and low-to-moderate warmth. Good finish, almost long. I'm 92 points with that.

I wondered who would notice that reference.

This seemed a little fruitier on the second night, but not better. On the third night the downward decline was obvious, but it was still enjoyable.
