Nice menu, and I am talking about the food!
The Port selections are also very intriguing and should make for a fun evening.
Now, you need to find yourself a restaurant venue that will appreciate you bringing offline volume to their doorstep and waive the corkage. I wouldn't put up with that more than once. Speak to the GM or owner and negotiate. I know it is not always easy in NYC, but some places definitely let that happen.

the price of ~100$/person is the prefixe and it includes everything (tax/tip/corkage)
we can bring in our own glass ware / wash for us and they gave us a private room which some venues charge you for in form of corkage

In NYC, I dont think you can escape a private room anywhere for under 125$/person (and that includes knowing the GM, as Glenn can attest)

I agree - nice menu that should go well with all those Ports.
Re: oct 28th friday NY offline
So, how was the tasting Jeff and others who attended?
It would be nice to have details of how the Ports showed (TN's even better!) as well as how the food was and who attended, etc.

Ughh... I can't believe I missed this. I've been slacking on checking in on FTLOP the past few months and in particular forgot to check the offline forum. I'm kicking myself right now... Hopefully there will be another NY event soon.

ooh
sorry for missing the replies
past few months have been crazy busy
There's another NY tasting in March when the kid gets a bit older and I can get outta the house again
North Square was fantastic.
The food was top notch, we had a private room with a private waiter/bartender.
We were allowed to drop off bottles and glassware earlier in the day.
Mixed drinks/sodas and aperitifs were all on the house.
100$ on the spot per person and they let us eat in peace for 3 1/2 hours.
Because itw as a private room, people could stand up and walk around to converse as there were also benches and a private bar.
I'd highly highly recommend this place.

and she'll take care of you and was very happy to host us.
Mention that you heard it through a fellow port lovers (as we took care of them in tip last time)
