I agree, the tiny little ones was in every home that served port as I grew up. Either in Portugal or here in Canada...I was even given a set as gift to a port lover that I was. Later my wife bought another set of "nicer" ones but still the tiny ones. She thought it would make me happy...When I finally got a set worthy of the wine, they are nice larger size. Many folks I pour port for, that are not into it like us, ask me why I don't serve it in the tiny glasses. It will take at least 1 generation for that to move on I think...
The Alvaro Siza designed Port Glass (official port glass) is the smallest I would recommend.
If you visit antique shops or thrift shops, lots of tiny vintage ones around.
cheers
Paul

I really like using a brandy snifter myself. I agree, really small glassware limits the ability to truly get the most from your port.
