Both bottles have a white wax capsule. If I can find the others in my cellar I will update this post (or if anyone else knows which wine I am talking about feel free to list it). Great fun wine for nice weather.
Hi Moses, could it be that the wine you mention is not from Luis Pato but from his daughter, Filipa Pato? Your description fits perfectly: 500ml bottles, white wax capsule and existing in both red (Baga) and white (Bical) and aged in clay pots. Personally I have never drunk them, but I hope to drink the red 2015 in a couple of weeks when I am in Portugal.
.......and the name is Post Quercus :-)

You are correct. I buy Pato wines so often, I just lump them all together... Would be interested to read your report once you do try them.

A 2012 Niepoort Coche and a 1995 Quinta do Crasto Reserva Old Vines at dinner last night with friends.

Also tasted about 28 wines and Ports from Casa Ferreirinha and Quinta do Crasto. I'll get notes up on those sometime next week.

2014 Casal da Coelheira Branco Reserva. I drink a lot of this one!

2013 Quinta da Lapa "Nana" Reserva - Symmetry in a bottle of red, really delicious and its strong points is its ability to complement so many different types of food.

1991 Luis Pato Branco - Vinhas Velha Reserva. This was my 3rd time having this since mid-June. It never disappoints. Last night with my friends Lisa & Vic, I opened another that was purchased when visiting Pato. Fantastic impression, not quite as youthful as the previous bottle which was the best of the 3; but this was still incredibly delicious.

2003 Mouchao - I am not opening these as often anymore, because I can't buy any more of it. Still, a great mid-90s point wine from one of the most elite producers in Alentejo.

Was out of town for a few days on a last minute trip just to get away. Mostly stuck to mixed drinks but did take a 2016 Planalto Reserve Branco with me. Perfect chilled on a hot day.

A friend was in from the other coast and he had never had a Portuguese table wine as he is almost all Port, all the time. I opened a 2003 Quinta do Crasto Old Vines Reserva for him. He thought it was excellent, but he is a big Napa Cab and Bordeaux guy. He was blown away by the concept of Crasto's old vine field blend vineyards.

I opened a number of wines to share with some wine friends who've never had Portuguese wines before. I picked out a cross section, young and older, single varietal vs. mixed varietal. Fun afternoon.

2008 Vertice Douro (Sparkling wine)
2005 Niepoort Redoma Branco
1997 Quinta do Crasto Reserva
2006 Quinta do Crasto Touriga Nacional
2009 Casa Ferreirinha Quinta da Leda
2011 Ramos Pinto Duas Quintas Reserva

I didn't take any notes but will get some impressions up as time permits.

Quite good, as expected (had this Reserva a couple of times before, other vintages though). Still youthfull, nice tones of the wood-aging, firm (dark red and forest) fruit, and nicely balanced. And, a thing I always look for, nicely recognisable as a Douro wine.
And, also important, it had an excellent P-Q ratio :D (I must admit, I picked it up in a Portugal supermarket when on holiday there  )
