Two birthdays to celebrate tonights, what's better than Port to finish one of those nights. I was able to buy 3 bottles of this limited 2000 bottles from the joint venture of both sucessful man in Portugal wines history.
Still the color shows no signs of evolution, almost opaque deep ruby color. The nose is really inviting you to put your nose in for an intense burst of dark plums, sweet cherries, floral tones, concentrated licorice, nice exotic wood and some dark chocolate on the background. The mouth is a bit more simple right now, still the structure is so good. We could appreciate more depth in this medium full bodied Port showing really nice balanced structured components, medium acidity/sweetness balance , fine polished grained tannins and very sweet finale on black cherries and licorice. A very fine VP /from an unfortunately disbanded alliance between two great Portugal figures. I'm looking forward to get great complexity in this fine Port in 10-15 years. 17/20+
