Riesling: the other white meat

Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

Riesling does go with (just about) everything. But where's the PORT in that article? A very serious omission, I must say.

I give the writer credit for making the caveat that riesling is not a good match for absolutely everything, if one reads the article in its entirety. Apart from the port, there were a few areas where she could have delved into madeira too - or even sherry for that matter.

The focus of the article was RIESLING and it handled that nicely. There are lots of articles including Port and food pairings (esp. around Valentine's Day).

The past couple of years have seen a lot more marketing of riesling in my part of the world - particuarly at this time of year where the heat and humidity is up. I think they are trying to counter the Kiwi sauv blanc invasion. One advantage of riesling here is that the QPR is generally excellent
