Picked this up the other day at Trader Joe's for $39.99 and of course had to open it right away.

Decanted through cheesecloth as per usual, this has become much darker with over 48 hours in the decanter. It's now a blackish burgundy nearly all the way to the edge. The nose is boisenberry, prunes and cocoa. The palate took a few hours to come together after it was decanted but since then it's been drinking deliciously. The fruit on the palate is the same boisenberry and prune combination as on the nose - quite sweet but with a vibrant burst of acidity that balances the sweetness perfectly and a touch of black pepper carrying through on the medium-long finish. Delicious now but I'd guess another 10+ years will really put this in a sweet spot. Great QPR. 92pts, Tasted 2/12

Thanks for taking one for the team. It sounds like this is certainly worthy and a great QPR from such a fine vintage.

Well, it was hard work but somebody had to do it. :winebath:

[help.gif] I've sent out an sos to save you from all that hard work. The rescuers only ask that you have a few bottles of Port open for them when they show up

Thanks for posting this note, I know a number of people have bought this VP at Trader Joe's recently.
