Opened and double decanted 24 hours from a half bottle.
Color:Deep blackberry color, rim dark red like dark red rose. Appears very dense and opaque; thick legs when swirled.
Nose: Was getting hints of leather and black cherry on top of dark fruits, again the aromas are intense and deep.
Palate: Dark grape and blackberry comes through at first with hints of leather and something akin to tobacco. Just a little cherry and a little floral that seems like a faint violet. It just feels so dense when drinking. The finish is clipped with tannins as expected for a young port; yet the alcohol integration was very nice.
Everything about this port is dense and massive. Extremely enjoyable-wish I had some of these to cellar. Seems a bit of a beast and suspect it will cellar well for years.
