I have not been able to find any comments on the 2004 vintage. A local wine merchant is now offering Quinta do Vesuvio 2004.
I note from the Symington website that they are also offering a couple of other single quinta 2004s.
Any comments and opinions are welcome.

Michael,
Where have you seen this offered?
The only place I know to have offered this wine was Philglass & Swiggot in the UK - and at an absurd price!
BTW - could you update your profile so we know where you're from. No-one has a reason to keep secrets here!

This is being offered by Adnams at a price somewhat different to P&S - GBP140 per 6 bt. case.
Still looking for comments on the vintage.
I've put my location in the profile.

OK, you're not a million miles from me!
Adnams price looks much more reasonable, but when I checked their site, I couldn't find their terms and conditions (other than by confirming an order..)
Do you happen to know if their en primeur prices include VAT and Duty?
Even if it does though, the auction price in five years time is likely to be lower...

I am a HUGE lover of Quinta do Vesuvio and anyone who has read my vintage reports from 1994, 1997, 2000 or 2003 know that I rate these all quite highly. That said, the 1994 is one of my all time favorites. Recently in a discussion with Paul Symington, he commented that this was truly the first great vintage of Vesuvio since they took over in 1989.
I have had all of the Symington 2004 VPs and must say that the Vesuvio from the cask sample I tried at their Lodge, was not as great as expected and overshadowed by others in the lineup. I can't disclose more than that though, for now.

The Adnams offer did not include duty or VAT. In view of Roy's comment I shall hold off buying for the moment.
