I tried to search for any prior notes, but found none. Does anyone have any information about this VP?

Thanks

I drank it only once, my girlfriend wrote a TN on the WS board, I pasted it below:
We decanted this wine 2 hours in advance.

The colour is one of an aged/matured vintage port: light red hart with a pink overall sparkle.
As Niepoort ports can have an interesting iodine nose, this '83 is a little too alcoholic (this will fade away with time). Its nose is not too outspoken: just subtle tones of roasted/candied fruits and orange peel.
Thin bodied, ripe port, with caramel, coffee, candied fruits and dades. The alcohol is slightly prickling, but OK. Still some sweet cherries and some tannines. It ends with some leather tones and a nice bitterness.

After a day, this VP has become a very easy drinking port. We opened it just at its peak.

Ronald,

Thanks. How long do you think it will stay in its prime? Is it one to start drinking soon, or does it have the meat to go 5-10 more years?

Thanks again,

Anyone else have experience with this VP?

It would probably hold for a couple more years, but I doubt if it's going to get any better, so I would say: drink now.
