Port Lovers in Scotland

Post by Roy Hersh »

I am working on a Port event while in Scotland in October. Anyone here who would like to participate, please let me know.

:thanks:

Roy,

As you might have expected, I am intrigued :D

However, as I spend most of my time in London or elsewhere in England, will be in India for a week during October and have a partner and a mother who have birthdays in that month, it will very much depend on where and when this event is to be held.

Please email me more details and I will let you know if it is possible.

Having roughly half my ancestors from Scotland, I am also intrigued, but unlikely to attend at such a distance (it's a long walk).

Derek,

After a quick visit to London, the next evening a small group will be getting together in Edinburgh to enjoy some Port and Douro wines. The following day(s) we head up to the Highlands and delve into Single Malts and hikes etc.

The Edinburgh event will likely be at a friend's home. I am currently sitting in the Philadelphia airport on my way to Porto, via Lisboa. [cheers.gif]

A fantastic country to visit, parts of the Highlands are even more remote than the Douro. Loved it up there and in Edinburgh too. A truly great city.

It will be interesting to see in which direction the 2014 vote leads. It was interesting to hear so many fine discussions on this topic. :scholar:

We went on one of the hour-long trips. What's excellent about it is that you get to meet the staff who create the wine. My buddy is the whiskey fan and that's why we went to Islay first. He was excited to check out the place where wine is made.
