1997 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port -- an adoration

Opened this weekend a bottle of 0,375 l. No decanting, but opened the bottle 30 h ago, sipped a bit, recorced, and stored in the fridge until next afternoon. Drunk it in the evening.
After opening the bottle and tried it myself, I gave my wife a sip. She did not know what would be in the glass. She was really surprised, that it should be a VP. And that was my impression too. The alcohol of 20,5% vol was completly in the background.The wine was certainly still young, but not closed at all and without any greenness and unripeness. It had an increddible balance between elegance, power and tightness. Shurely it was by far the most impressing VP I had until yet. Very happy, that there is some more of this.
