1969 Blandy's Terrantez

Post by Gary Banker »

On Veterans Day I opened the first of six bottles that I bought earlier this year. The appearance is dark and clouded. There was no bottling date, but a layer of dust stuck to the outside of the bottle, heaviest on the shoulder. There was slight deposit on the inside of the bottle and a surprising amount of sediment. Moderate acidity and very slight bitterness. Very well integrated slight sweetness. Finished on 21 November. There was little change over the 10 days in the decanter. This is less acidic than the Blandy's 1976. To my taste, I prefer the 1969 to the 1976.

Gary, was this another auction purchase? May I ask how much you spent on it?

This was not from an auction, but part of an offer from a distributor. It was $1,382 for a six-bottle case.
