Celebrated New Year's Eve with this. Probably bottled in the mid-90's. Decanted two days beforehand.
Dark, amber core fading to an olive oil rim.
Explosive rich and savory aromas; spicy caramel, creme brulee. Touch of VA.
Intense rich palate. Tangerines and butter toffee. Very concentrated. High acidity, but for me, impeccable balance.
Very, very long. Superb stuff. I think I like this better than the terrific 1908 Boal. 96 points.
