Krohn Tawny Port "Rich Tawny"

Post by Kurt Wieneke »

Paloma Imports, Bellevue, WA. I found this orphan languishing on the shelves of a local liquor store. No bottling date indicated. Cork totally disintegtrated when trying to pull off the "cork cap". (I have no idea what the proper term for these things are, it is basically a plug cap). This tawny has all the hallmarks of a 10 yr - amber at the rims but mostly a reddish brown hue. Fairly simplistic, with a distinct pruney character but a nice long finish and it went quite well with some plain chocolate cake. 87 pts
