Harveys VP 1983

Post by Stuart Chatfield »

This is an odd one. I've had plenty of pre-75 UK bottlings by Harveys but not seen a recent one under its own label. The Wine Society (who've had a pretty feeble port range in the last couple of years) have suddenly come out with this one. Has anyone had it before?

They say it is produced by Martinez Gassiot.

Would appreciate any help to see if it is worth a try. GBP29 per bottle.

When did Harvey's stop selling "own label" ports? I thought that it was some time ago, pre-mandatory Oporto bottling as you say.

Its an interesting curiosity and probably worth a try at £29 a bottle, although I've never tried the Martinez Gassiot 1983.
