Forrester Tastevin at Christie's

This is an interesting item I found on the Christie's site. It is the "Forrester Tastevin" commisioned by Joseph James Forrester who died on the Douro below Vesuvio. This is certainly meaningful for thoise who were on the Port trip.

I might see if I can visit Christies to take a look at the Tasetvin, I'd love to see it. Sadly, I think that it will sell way beyond my limit.

An interesting piece, but an incredible estimate.
Obviously something the Factory House or one of the lodges would like to acquire - but beyond the Port trade, who else has even heard of him..?

Just think of all the bottles of Port you could buy for that price.
It would be a great collectible but I am already running out of space in my humble Port museum. Alex, if you do get to see it, please send me a photo ... if you are allowed to take one. I'd love to put it in the newsletter.
