TN: 1894 Henriques & Henriques Malmsey Solera Madeira

Post by Steve Shapiro »

Decanted and open for 6 days prior to malmsey/malvasia dinner. Very dark brown with amber edge. Reduced nose which eventually blew off with time and aggressive aeration. Torrefaction predominates nose, plus fudge and figs. In mouth heavy, quite sweet, with Chocolate, figs and some cloves. Moderately long finish, with good acidity. Needed another week to air. 17/20. Number 8 of the 9 malvasias with dinner. (1/13).
