Just received the confirmation for my winning on one bottle of '67.
Should i resist and keep that or open it?
I thought @ base price of USD 260,- i should pull the trigger.

I commented on that bottle to another board member yesterday. I saw that price and thought how ridiculously low it was and then I noticed the 4.5 cm ullage which seemed a bit much. Still at that price, it was a heck of a bargain. I have a handful of the '67 Nacionals and have drank this wine possibly more than any other Nacional vintage (ten times or so) and absolutely love it. My best bottles have shown to be dark and looking like they are 25 years younger with extraordinary flavors. It would make for a great blind tasting, ONLY doing 1966, 1967 and 1970 side-by-side to see which folks would choose. I know that Christian Seely also loves the '67 and I have had at least two bottles with him, if memory serves correctly.
Anyway, you are lucky, I left this lot alone because of there only being one bottle and the fact that I thought it was "rude" to just grab a single bottle which would deprive someone else from having a great experience. Had it been a full case or at least 3 bottles, I would have done my best to score. Enjoy the bottle and please post a TN. I am very pleased that someone from this BB bought that bottle! I guess I should not be all that surprised.

Roy,
when i saw the 4.5 cm i was worried and assumed i shouldn't bet. Then i took my measuring tape and inspected how much 4.5 cm means in regards to neck/shoulder.
When i "simulated" 4.5 cm on my Taylor bottles i get ullage between "into neck" and "top-shoulder", which seems like a good level for that age.
P.S.: Regarding the glasses from IVP: how do they compare with the Riedel Port glasses? I have an offer for two 6 packs with the logo from IVP for EUR 45,- per, no Port-house engraved on these.
Thanks
Andreas

Congrats on getting the bottle. This is a wine that has a great reputation in Roy's tasting notes and even in Suckling's 15 year old view.
Any idea when you plan to open it? I'd love to hear what you think of it.

Congrats! I had my eye on that one too. I went for the 1994 vesuvio instead and won those
