Medium brown. Medium bodied, sweet, mostly caramel flavor without great depth. Clean finish. Enough acidity. 16/20. $80. (6/12/99).

Do we know that this is just Tinta Negra Mole? I just had the wine this afternoon at a luncheon iand my feeling was that it was primarily Verdelho with some TNM blended in.

My notes: Decanted six hours ahead of service. Searing acidity dominates with any residual sweetness masked. Walnuts with the drying characteristics of walnut skins. This wine should be served with fatty shellfish in a cream sauce to counteract the acidity. It's a very good wine served under the right circumstances.
