Henriques and Henriques 20 Year Terrantez
Amber in color, this has a somewhat off-putting aroma of maderized, 'over-the-hill' Champagne. It is on the sweet side of Terrantez. Very apple cidery, apricot, and bit 'screetchy' in acidity, not helped by its lean, jagged profile. A long, acidic, and tart finish. 87 Pts.

I've had four or five bottles of this wine and none have resembled what you've experienced. Maybe you've had a slightly 'off' bottle. I've seen variation in some of the non-vintage H&H madeiras: Inaugaration madeira, 15-year verdelho and sercial.

Really? What have been your impressions re: the 20 year Terrantez?

I've had a couple of bottles. It is on the sweeter side but I didn't find the screetchy acidity you did. I thought it could use more acidity to balance the sweetness. I believe I gave it a 91.

Just finished a bottle of this and agree with the other tasters, it's on the sweeter side. I enjoyed thoroughly, but it's several steps below the 88 D'Oliv in my opinion.
