1973 D'Oliveiras Madeira Boal (bottled in 2015)
1973 D'Oliveiras Madeira Verdelho (bottled in 2021)
Barbeito Madeira Malvasia 50 Years Old O Japonês

Served the first two at a Birthday party, guests really enjoyed the Verdelho and the bottle was emptied. And on the last one, I have to say, what a fantastic Malvasia blend it was/is, I wish I had another bottle. Heavenly drink!

1989 D'Oliveiras Malvasia
1993 Barbeito Malvasia Faja dos Padres

... for a wedding party. These were their birth year wines, which are difficult years to find for Port. An additional bottle of each was saved for the bride and groom to take home with them.

How was the H&H 1934? I found one at auction. Mine is the same, without the selo.

The 1934 H&H Verdelho was delicious. It didn't have the concentration of most of the others, but it had a purity that kept me coming back; it was one of the pours that I finished earliest in the evening. It was reminiscent of a lime lollypop...in the best possible way.
All of the bottle were opened 8 days in advance, and then double-decanted 3 days before the tasting.

D'Oliveiras 1900 Moscatel Groudo (2022)
Blandy's 1980 Terrantez (2016)

Wow, this 1900 Moscatel is a truly special wine, just as incredible as when tasted at the lodge last year. As rich and chewy as you'd hope, powerful acid to balance, and full of exotic spices.

Over the past few weeks, I've opened a 1971 D'Oliveiras Terrantez. 1940 JVH Sercial and a Justino's 50 year old Terrantez. I loved all 3 and plan to keep these open and not finish them for the next couple of months.
