Casa Ferreirinha has just launched its latest product which completes the Vinha Grande range: Vinha Grande Rosé.
The first edition, harvest 2012, was produced with Touriga Nacional grapes from higher altitude areas of Quinta do Sairrão, hand harvested and selected in the vineyard and later re-sorted upon arrival at the estate’s winery.
The vinification was led in a traditional method, with soft crushing of the whole bunch by means of pneumatic pressing, followed by decanting and fermentation at low temperatures.
The final blend was prepared after a careful selection of the resulting wines, which were then aged in bottle until the ideal moment for release to the public. The result is a wine with outstanding aromatic intensity and complexity which, allied to a fantastic acidity, lend the wine an extraordinary elegance and aptitude for gastronomical associations.
Of the first harvest only 1.500 bottles were produced, however, the plan for the upcoming 2013 crop, is to widen the production.
