Pedro Ximenez 750mL at Cinderella Wine for $22

Post by Eric R... »

As per the subject line.

For those of you for whom port just isn't sweet enough...

Seriously, though, I have had El Candado PX and it is glorious. As you probably know, it's a bit too thick and sugary to drink but it's pretty friggin' awesome over vanilla ice cream.

I grabbed 3. I don't usually drink a lot of sherry, but at that price it's a steal. Plus I like the ice cream suggestion. :-)

I guess I fell for the offer also. I have been wanting to try a sherry so I bought 4.

Michael, be sure to check out dry sherries as well, like fino. Some of my favorite wines. They go great with Spanish tapas and are often really good buys ($15 and under).

Does this look like a Sherry forum? [kez_11.gif]

No Roy but maybe you should add one. But then there is the Spanish-Portiguese rivalry.
Dirk Niepoort is working with the Equipo Navazos group so there is precedence. :)

I drink my share of Spanish wines and there are several others from the Douro who are involved in winemaking projects in Spain: Portal's Paulo Coutinho and also Cristiano van Zeller come to mind. Anyway, obviously I was just joking ... but there is no chance that there will be a Sherry forum added to FTLOP. A much higher % would be that of Moscatel de Setuabal. :scholar:

Mine have arrived (I delayed shipping for better weather) and I can confirm that it is indeed awesome on vanilla ice cream!

I know this is an older thread but I just opened one of these bottles today. It is unbelievably sweet and thick. I don't really eat a lot of ice cream so I am asking if anyone has a good cocktail to use this in. Maybe a bourbon and cream sherry. Any ideas?
