Cynthia Jenson and Glenn Elliott

Post by Roy Hersh »

As per the new newsletter which was released today and the .pdf is already on the site now for subscribers.

Glenn Elliott is now a Forum Moderator as of today. I always have been one of those, "promote from within" and it is great that Glenn will now be a greater presence here. Very happy that Andy will have some help too, as with the new launch, I expect the traffic here will pick up rather dramatically and I did not want Andy getting crushed by this, even though he has big shoulders and does a fantastic job here!

Additionally, the old Graham's Blog which was so nicely done on a regular basis by Cynthia Jenson, has changed a bit since she left. She has been helping me, Stewart and David on projects the past two months and is now the new FTLOP Blogger as of today as well. You will see her new work on the homepage of our new website as soon as it is launched!

I hope you all find this news exciting and as you'll read more in the newsletter, we are thrilled to have her on the FTLOP staff! [welcome.gif]

In the UK we have a rhyme, which I paraphrase here:

I think I'm required to drink a bottle of Niepoort Bioma or Fonseca Terra Prima first. ;)

This is really fantastic news. I'm happy especially for Cynthia - this must be one of the best jobs on the planet! But our whole community of port geeks will absolutely benefit from this... now that we have somebody on the ground that can do some serious research and can be in constant contact with the port trade.
A match made in heaven... :)

And it's great to see that we now have Glenn as Forum moderator... that is great news for us Tawny-lovers...

The next step would be to have an FTLOP headquarter in Gaia, then of course the FTLOP Quinta in the Douro, a FTLOP speed boat on the Douro to get faster to our Quinta and a FTLOP helicopter to get us quickly from the Porto-Airport to Gaia. But I'm sure that Roy is already working on all these things... :)

Welcome aboard, Cynthia!!!! Looking forward to seeing you again in July and/or September!!!!

You forgot matching FTLOP restaurants in Porto and Douro. FTLOP :ftlop: -P and FTLOP :ftlop: -D. [imnewhere.gif]

Very pleased with the team we now have, moving forward. Built for speed ... once we get the new site launched. [dash1.gif] It will be worth the wait. Many good reasons to come back to the homepage, something we've never quite achieved before. Cynthia's presence, creative writing and innate understanding of vini-viti cultures will be a paramount force in driving that and this is the best natural fit I can imagine. Not tied to any specific brands, I think you all are in for some great reading ahead! :scholar:
