It's funny that they describe the buildings along the Cais da Ribeira as "where houses “are stacked in a chaotic order of tiles and hanging laundry, over bars, restaurants, and patios in front of the Douro River”" yet the picture is of the Pestana Porto. Which, granted, looks like chaotically stacked houses, but it's actually a 5-star hotel. :-)

To the left of the Pestana in the picture are a bunch of houses (apartments really). I saw a listing for some of those on a vacation rental site just recently. When we were there, we rented an apartment on Rua dos Mercadores, which is the street on the other side of the square across from the Pestana.
