A little off rubbery aroma, but also sweet candied, and salt water toffee. Lots of tangy acidity, lemon, and invert sugar; followed by cinnamon roll buttery sugar. 88 points. I wonder if this will improve with more air time, as this was pretty close to pop-and-pour.

It certainly showed as if two days in decanter would have proved beneficial. Nonetheless, I liked it quite a bit.

I'll report back this week as there is a little left in bottle.

Hi Eric,

Which year was it bottled? Is it the most recent one, from 2011?

Best

Niklas

I don't think I recorded that. Maybe someone else at that tasting knows? Did you keep the bottle Andy?

Uh yes I have it. It has an older style Selo. No date though. It was imported by American wine & importing Dallas TExas. It is listed as 750ml so was at least bottled or shipped post the change here (late 70's???).

I hope you will get the opportunity then, to also taste the most recent bottling! It's far superior and has a beautiful concentration. The latest bottle of the 1940 Sercial is from October, 2011.
