Having read some stuff here i chose to decant for about 6-8 hours.
Here are my notes what I remember although I don't have much to compare to.
Directy after decanting:
A lot of dark berries - even some dryness like Cranberry. Sweetness was very present as well as alcoholic tones.
+2h:
The berries faded a bit away still present but not as overwhelming as before.
+3h:
Alcohol diminished, tastet somewhat more balanced
After 5h i then washed the bottle, refilled and corcked it for Transportation and restarted decanting at my friends home for approx. another 2h.
+7h:
After 7h we went into the Port and drank it, following a delicious Barbecue-Dinner. Fruits gained a bit again, but now well acompanied by a decent but less powerfull sweetness. Mild taste from the alcoholic point of view, but anyway a powerfull finish with a lot of aftertaste fortunately without the little bitterer aftertaste i'm used from younger Tawnies.
+20h:
A litte of the part i put in an extra glass upon decanting was left the next morning, but the sweetness now overpowered everything else - unbalanced.
Concluding I can say that my friends and me enjoyed our first bottle of VP a lot, but for the Price it will stay a thing for rare occasions
