I am not sure what you mean by "help you out" but I tried the wine about a year ago. It was a Rare Wine Company purchase. It is very young and very fine. Why do you ask?

I've had this on a few occasions and have some cellared too. They are so young as to be worthy of drinking in two to three decades, unless you are a thrill seeker that likes 'em this young, or have an extra bottle to open now to see how they are doing. Otherwise, leave 'em alone in your cellar.

I got a couple of bottles at a decent prices. I bought them on the back of a friends review WITHOUT tasting. This is a thing I usually don't do. Plus I am more of a Champagne/Loire/Mosel/White Burg guy so I was wondering if they were that good.
I assume so. I will crack one open over Xmas and post some notes.
Btw what do you guys think about this port and a good stilton (Colston Basset and alike) ?

Personally, with a port this special I would not drink it with any kind of food but enjoy it on its own and with friends and family who will appreciate it.
But if I do have cheese with a young VP it tends not to be a blue cheese but a mature hard cheese such as parmesan or aged gouda. I just love that contrast between the fruit bomb and the fragrance of the cheese.
Mind you, I also confess to enjoying a young VP as a wine to accompany a meal of ham, egg, chips and baked beans

By all accounts this is a respectable, but not stellar, performer - yet trades for silly money on account of the Nacional tag.Any thoughts on the same wine vintage 1975
Arguably one of the worst QPR's for a vintage port - better rated wines can be bought for a quarter of the price.

I agree that so many other ports can be had at better value than Nacional. Yet, when I read of Roy's quest to find the Holy Grail of the 1931 Nacional, I wonder if it is all about qpr. His description of finding and tasting it trancends qpr.
I think we should count oureselves fortunate that the world is for the most part still ignoring port and the price has not skyrocketed.
I note that the current Rare Wine Company price list has 2005 Lafite at $595 and La Mission at $395 per bottle while the 1985 Nacional is $395 and many old Madeiras are $300 or less. For QPR , the 85 Nacional is much better than the Lafite. George Rhys just offered a case of 2001 Petrus at $30,000.00!
I am glad to have my 91 Nacional just to say I have some but there is much more on the market that is better port for a better price but even Nacional is a relative bargain in the high end wine world.
