Why I don't want to live in CA ... ever!
Then again, here in WA we live with the same threat. It just seems like CA gets caught so much more frequently.

Thankfully no one was killed.
I'm glad I live right in the middle of a plate.

Thankfully no one got hurt. Had it been during the day time there most likely would have been more injuries than there was. As is normal with quakes such as this the damage is quite random and concentrated in certain small clusters. My friends house is a few blocks from downtown Napa and was unscathed, yet a few blocks away from his house a wine store I know lost a number of bottles, glasses, and other things. Reports have been coming in and with the same reports, some people getting hit hard and some had only small amounts of damage and others none. The other thankful part is harvest was just getting ready to start so lots of producers had emptied out their large tanks and barrels already and bottled previous vintages. Had this happened a couple weeks later when most wineries were full of fresh juice the loss would most likely have been far greater than it was. I wish them all the best in their recovery efforts!
