Roy H. Quoted in Rare Wine newsletter ( 67 Vargellas)

Post by Richard Henderson »

In a December Newsletter that I receive from The Rare Wine Company, Roy Hersh is quoted as the port expert/critic touting the 1967 Quinta do Vargellas 1967. I think this is a great honor for Roy and worthy of note here. :scholar:

This is not intended as a an advertisement for this company. I willl say personally that I have been a customer of theirs for many years.

The RWC has been a major source for Madiera and Port in this country.
It is always a treat and worth a look to see their current inventory because they get stuff no one else gets sometimes and they are an honorable and reputable source.

They quote ratings from the ususal wine critic suspects such as Parker, Rovanni, and Tanzer.

Kudos to Roy for being recognized by them as an authority on port . :salute:
They published the web address of this board in their article/ad.

Their web address is http://www.rarewineco.com. As of this moment the issue with Roy's quote is not posted on their current newsletter in their website but it should appear in a day or so.

The Roy Hersh comments are now posted on the Rare Wine website under current newsletter.
You do have to scroll down a ways to see Roy's comments.

FYI , I tried to buy 3 bottles of the 67 Vargellas and they either limited sales to 2 bottles or they are out, but 2 are all I could get.

I wonder if Roy is entitled to a discount on wine now, it's only fair... :?:

Say Steve, I am a Rare Wine customer going back to 1992 or 93 when 83 Graham's was $25. I deserve the discount for saying nice things! 8)

My 15 seconds of fame is passing by quickly, but I might outlive Britney!
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com
