Santos??

Post by Tom Archer »

A few cases of 1983 and 1985 Santos have been bouncing around the auction circuit (and generally failing to sell).

The auction lisiting does not actually say it is Port - but neither do they describe Graham or Dow as port - they assume you know.

Given the vintage dates and guide prices, it is easy to assume that this is a second division VP..

..but who the hell are they?

I've Googled to no avail - there are too many people and places called Santos...

Tom

It could be: A. Pintos dos Santos (Pintos dos Santos), founded in 1872. No more information than that, and I have never tried it or even seen a bottle. Hope that helps,
