Madeira Menu
I am putting together a small evening, including Terrantez, Tinta Negra Mole, a 10 yr old Sercial and one or two others.
Can anyone recommend food to go with it?
Do you think tapas style food, lots of finger nibbles, or perhaps something like an asian meal?
Any thoughts or past experiences would be appreciated.

Another option for dessert (if you can find it) is Madeira honey cake (bolo do mel). It goes great with a sweeter style of Madeira. Here is what it looks like:

Good luck. Let us know how the dinner goes.

Although this is going to sound like heresy, don't knock it until you try it:
Southern Fried Chicken.
Also a classic is roasted turkey.

Steps for a happy wedding
Steps for a happy wedding.
0. Marry the right woman (generalise as appropriate).
1. Invite almost nobody. (Parents only, not even siblings.)
2. Serve something really worth drinking.
3. Drink it.
It’s not complicated.

Most people have a little problem with 'Step 0'. Hence the Divorce rate!!!
And 'AT THE TIME' the weddings I've had were marvelous. But as time progresses and you begin to associate that Legal Ceremony with the resulting House Donations and Maintanance payments, which seriously impact on your ability to buy the finer VP's......
Well thats were my previous Post came in.... :)

Getting married is certainly a change in the way in which wine purchases are made, but the ultimate evolution is when you start paying for your kids school. Ouch! What happened to all of my wine?

Derek, I guess I can't say that we exactly PAY for schooling for the kids... we don't (all publicly funded - much like I understand England's system to be) up until grade 12. After that, college/university/post-secondary is all paid for separately. While I don't need to start worrying about this for at least 14 years, the extra-curricular activities (outside of school) such as soccer, hockey, baseball (kind of like criket, but it only lasts ONE DAY!!!Derek Turnbull wrote:If you guys had stayed in the Empire you wouldn't have to pay for kids education and could buy all the VP you need![]()

Yes, but the cost of university here is more than made up in the quality of our teeth. After all, I can supplement my kids education at home, but I can't fix their teethDerek Turnbull wrote:If you guys had stayed in the Empire you wouldn't have to pay for kids education and could buy all the VP you need![]()
