The ICEP wine & port tasting was in Montreal last Monday. Normally the first 2 hours are for the trade(restaurants and professionals) then it is open for everyone. I guess you could just present yourself at the entrance and ask for permission to get in. It was like that in Montreal.

I did not taste much as I was working for a producer but there was at least 300 different products to taste.

One of my favorite wine of those I tasted was Marquês de Borba 2003 Reserva. I brought back the remaining at home and I can say that over the 3 days period I drank it, it was just keeping getting better!

Prezado Mario,

This will be a great opportunity to draw in all of the local Porto afficionados in the area (New York).

Definatelly keep us in the loop.

Maybe Roy could find an excuse to come out to the east coast again for a due diligence meeting!

Hi There,

Unfortunately I've not made any plan to attend those events in the USA.
However, my agenda might change. If so, I will post on this thread again to inform you both whether I'm coming for any of those US Port Wine Tastings. :D

I guess the portuguese still / table wines area will definitely be much bigger than the Port Wine area. However, I'm pretty sure Port Wines will be very well represented as well. :)

Dave / David - I plan to attend the NYC tasting on April 19th. I'm assisting my good friends of Quinta do Silval and will be pouring wines at their table in New York. :) So, if you are coming over we'll definitely have a chance to meet :)

Mario,

Too bad you won't be at the San Fransisco event. There is a good chance I will be heading to Napa to see my brother that week and a trip into San Fran is not that far. Hopefully I can get up there and make the event.

Andy

Let me know by PM close to the date if your coming to the SF event and we can hook up for the tasting and perhaps an offline at my house. David, that goes for you as well if you can get out of the mountains!

Looks like I may be joining you guys for the SF tasting.

My sister from Atlanta will be at a conference in SF that weekend, and of course it would be great to hook up with the FTLOP gang. I'll probably arrive early Thurs and I'll have to bail early Sunday morning to make it back for another event in Seattle.

I'm in the process of fixing my forum PM, so if you need to contact me, please email admin@fortheloveofport.com

Would love to coordinate with anyone else there or traveling there.

Is there a website, in English, where I can sign up for one of these? The hotel websites are not any help. I don't see anything on the ICEP website or the Duoro and Port Wine Institute website. The Viniportugal website appears to not have an English translation. I would like to go to the Chicago event, but can't figure out how to sign up.

Thanks,
John

John / David -

I will find out about the details for Registration for these events and will post that info here (on this thread) :)
Several emails from various sources inquiring about those Wine Tastings have already been emailed to me. So, as soon as I get the info I plan to use this thread to inform everybody. 8)
