So I found a 375 of this at the local Beverages & More. It was pretty cheap so, since I've never had this, I thought I'd give it a try.
Well, I openned it about 1 1/2 hours ago. Upon opening it was a relatively light ruby color. The intersting thing is the edge looks almost clear. I could be seeing things but every time i look at it I see this purplish/clear outer ring. There is a lot of alcohol on the nose and palate, almost completly masking the underlying flavors of plum.
after 1 1/2 hours, the alcohol has subsided only a little. The color has darkened only slightly. A bit more flavors starting to come through. I hope this gets better sometime soon. I'll post back in another hour or so.
--Well after 3 hours last night it had not changed...I'll try it again this evening and see if 24 hours helps out.
--Well its now almost 18 hours later and still the alcohol is way too prominent. Almost completely masking the fruit.
I would not recommend this VP. Thank goodness it was only a 1/2 bottle.
