Three reasons for trying this bottle:
1) It was given to me by friends who flew halfway round the globe to attend my birthday party.
2) It is an 18% fortified blackcurrant wine.
3) It nowhere describes itself as 'port'
Colour is typical of a mature vintage port, BUT
- on the nose, it smells like a medical centre
Both palate and finish are very poor, and mercifully short.
Conclusion: 10/10 for not abusing the word 'Port' - otherwise just plain horrid..!
