Hello from Passadouro

Post by Frederick Blais »

Hey guys, just wanted to say a little hello from the Douro. I'm having fantastic time, the quinta is soumptuous and Ronald a very generous man. We had a special diner yesterday with barel samples of charme 2002, a perfect batuta 99.

I had some barrel tasting at Graham and Niepoort, watch for the charme 2004 and the Batuta 2004, if you can find some they will be amazing.

From what I've tasted at graham, the 2004 vintage is very charming, very likely to 2001 and giving much more fun than some of the 2003 I've tasted so far, overly tannic.

Big thanks to Roy and Mario for letting me join them for the IDVP tour, it was most interesting, Roy and Mario are also fantastic people to met and hope to see them in the future around a great bottle of wine.

Many more details when I'll came back next week.

Cheers

Fred
