Madeira and food pairings

Following on from a couple of recent posts, have a look at Barbeito's new website (vinhosbarbeito.com) where they have set up a matrix with recommended madeira/food pairings. Parmesan, goose/duck liver pate or as an aperetif/digestif with nuts are combinations that seem to tick all the relevant boxes but there are a lot of other interesting suggestions. Smoked eel (!) with your 10yr old sercial for example.

Thanks for the report that Barbeito's web site is up. I've been looking forward to this since early last year when the page said that they expected to have it up by May 2006. Now if they can add to the information on the vintages, that would be even better

It will be interesting to see how some of the food pairings work.
